ICMS Programme Committee member Apala Majumdar receives prestigious award

ICMS Programme Committee member, regular visitor and workshop organiser Professor Apala Majumdar has recently received a Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award from the Humboldt Foundation. Further details of Professor Majumdar's award can be found here.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation presents approximately 20 Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Awards annually to internationally renowned academics in recognition of their outstanding accomplishments in research. The award is named for German astronomer and mathematician Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel (1784–1846) and funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
 

Professor Majumdar is one of the co-organisers and originators of the hugely successful Retreat for Women in Applied Mathematics funded by ICMS. Details about the 2024 Retreat can be found here.

Apala Majumdar receives award
