For applications to the KE Catalyst scheme:

When a proposal is submitted, the ICMS office acknowledges receipt and the proposal is passed to the KE Subcommittee.

The KE Subcommittee asks a minimum of two external referees to comment on the proposal, considering the following criteria:

  • To what extent does the proposal have potential to contribute to the betterment of humanity?
  • To what extent does the proposal have potential to impact on business, industry, government or the third sector?
  • To what extent does the proposal have potential to promote, support and/or generate further KE activity?
  • Is the workplan and budget commensurate with the description of the proposed project and workshop?
  • Does the track record of the applicant reflect capability to deliver the objectives outlined in the proposal?

Referees are asked to score proposals as follows:

1 – Excellent, likely to have high impact

2 – Very good

3 – Satisfactory, has potential

4 – Does not meet criteria

After considering the referee responses, each member of the KE Subcommittee provides their recommendation and an overall decision is agreed.
