LMS Prospects in Mathematics 2021

 09 - 10 Sep 2021

10:00 - 18:00

All final year undergraduates are invited to attend the online 2021 London Mathematical Society (LMS) Prospects in Mathematics Meeting. This two-day event is designed for final year undergraduates to explore opportunities for PhD study in the mathematical sciences in the UK. If you are considering applying for a mathmatics PhD in 2022 then you should make the most of this unrivalled opportunity to find out much more about the PhD experience from current students and supervisors.

The programme features speakers from all over the UK who represent many fields of study across the mathematical sciences. They will give an introduction to their current research and outline opportunities for PhDs in their fields.

There will be a panel discussion with current PhD students who can answer all your questions about the PhD experience. There will also be a panel of supervisors and a presentation by the London Mathematical Society. All talks will be presented using Zoom.

The breaks between talks will take place in Gather.Town: a virtual space that allows for more relaxed and informal interaction as well as the chance to have one-to-one meetings with speakers to discuss your own interests and answer questions.

This meeting is organised by the University of East Anglia. ICMS is pleased to be working with UEA to deliver this event.

Registration has closed and joining details have been emailed to registered participants by ICMS.
