The Department of Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics at HWU was founded in 1972 and had its 50th golden anniversary celebration in 2022. The actuarial undergraduate and postgraduate programs can be considered to be the jewel in the crown of HWU and we have distinguished alumni working all around the world in a wide range of actuarial work. The actuarial research group at HWU also holds strong connections with the University of Edinburgh through the Maxwell Institute and the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences.
