GCRF Meeting - 17 December 2018
17 December 2018
On Monday 17 December, ICMS will host a meeting to support GCRF networking.
This meeting is aimed at people who are preparing proposals to submit into the current, EPSRC Tackling global development challenges through mathematical sciences call. However, the meeting is open to all parties who are interested in GCRF and the mathematical sciences.
Here is a link to the EPSRC call.
The meeting will look to improve networking for people looking to engage with the GCRF initiative. We will consider the linkages between the different proposals, identifying common contacts and where possible work together to avoid duplication etc.
The format and timings for the day are shown below:
The written output of the meeting is available here
09:30 – 10:00 Welcome/Arrival Coffee
10:00 – 11:30 Proposal Overviews (There is scope to give outline details of proposals from people unable to attend in person)
11:30 – 12:30 GCRF – things to consider and an example of a successful GCRF proposal/project (tbc)
12:30 – 13.30 Lunch
13:30 - 14:30 Working together – how to best link up activities.
14:30 - 16:30 Future GCRF Opportunities – (i.e. beyond this call)
The University of Edinburgh has provided funding for this meeting. There is a small budget available to cover reasonable travel/accommodation costs to enable participation in the meeting. If you wish to apply for this funding, please complete the relevant section on the registration form.
The registration form for the meeting is available here, https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/GCRF17DEC/
There will be scope for further networking, but we have aimed to keep the core of the meeting between 10.00 - 16.00 to enable people to travel to and from the meeting in one day.
