The Virtual Forum for Knowledge Exchange in the Mathematical Sciences - Webinars/Scoping Meetings

International Centre for Mathematical Sciences (ICMS), Isaac Newton Institute (INI), The Newton Gateway to Mathematics, and Innovate UK’s Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) are working with various representatives from the mathematical sciences community to develop a virtual platform for engagement. The main aim is to identify a range of virtual approaches that will help address challenges from business and industry, the third sector, and other groups outside academia. These challenges may be long-standing or may have arisen directly as a consequence of the present disruption to UK society.

This webpage has details (including a link to the proposal form) for the Webinar/Scoping Meetings under this initiative.

Support provided for The Virtual Forum for Knowledge Exchange in the Mathematical Sciences Webinar/Scoping Meetings can include

  • Hosting the webinar and technical support  (including set up beforehand and during the event)
  • Practise/support sessions for speakers in advance
  • Support sessions for participants in advance
  • Advertising of the event
  • Inviting and registration of participants
  • Support  associated  with follow up activities  (actions, minutes, follow up discussions)

There is no set format for the Webinar Series and we will look to be as flexible as possible to make events successful

A webinar/scoping sessoin COULD follow the format below, but this is for illustrative purposes only.  Shorter/Longer formats can be accommodated.  Session could be split across a single day, multiple days.  Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly meeting will be considered.
