The main aim of the meeting is to present the recent work of Daniel Wise and his collaborators on ‘special cube complexes’, much of which is not yet available even in preprint form. This work has corollaries in combinatorial group theory and in low-dimensional topology. The meeting will introduce a group of mathematicians to the methods of special cube complexes. Mathematicians at various stages of their careers will be represented, including both experts in related areas and current graduate students.
The keynote speakers are:
- Daniel Groves, University of Illinois at Chicago
- Jason Manning, University at Buffalo
- Daniel Wise, McGill University
