TIES aims to foster the development and use of statistical and quantitative methods in the environmental sciences, and emphasises the role of collaboration between statisticians, mathematicians, scientists and engineers in finding solutions to problems in environmental monitoring, engineering and protection.

The 26th annual conference will be preceded by short courses and workshops, which will be held in the Conference Centre. The conference programme will begin on Monday 18th July and run in parallel until mid-afternoon on Friday 22nd July. The programme will be a combination of invited plenaries and invited and contributed sessions, featuring talks from keynote speakers Dr Mevin Hooten (Colorado State University), Professor Andrew Lawson (Medical University of South Carolina) and Professor Kerrie Mengerson (Queensland University of Technology), Professor Montse Fuentes (North Carolina State University) and Dr Nathaniel Newlands, Science and Technology, Government of Canada (Agriculture and Agri-Food), Canada
