Allen Knutsen juggling

Allen Knutson (Lecturer on the mathematics of juggling, Cornell University)

"Around 1985 three groups of jugglers independently hit upon the same system for describing juggling patterns. There are many reasons one might want to have such a system, e.g. to record patterns, categorize and relate old ones, and even create new ones. I'll explain this system, and demonstrate many patterns, including a number of tricks that only were (and maybe, only could have been) discovered using this theory."

This talk is part of the Edinburgh International Science Festival.
