| The SINIMS project exists
to facilitate collaboration between companies and universities on industrially
motivated mathematical or computational problems. Mathematics offers industry the potential to gain competitive advantage through improved products and processes, modelling, simulation, and a range of other methodologies. Phase 1 of the project, funded for 6 months by the DTI, began in October 2001 and resulted in the identification of a number of new opportunities for collaborative projects across a range of sectors. Phase 2, funded by the Smith Institute, seeks to develop these opportunities into real projects. |
