Workshop Summary
The workshop will be held at Heriot-Watt University (HW). Registration will take place on the evening of Sunday 12 March or on the morning of Monday 13 March. The workshop finishes on Friday 17 March.

The objective of this workshop is the examination of recent developments in 3-dimensional topology in the light of Perelman’s probable proof of Thurston’s Geometrization Conjecture, and of other important advances such as the proof of Thurston’s Ending Lamination Conjecture, and of Marden’s Tameness Conjecture and the development of Heegaard Floer homology theory.

The meeting will take stock of the subject and set out directions for future research.  The workshop will consist of a series of three one-hour lectures, held in Lecture Theatre 3, by each of four leading experts, supplemented by one-hour talks on particular aspects of current developments. (See Scientific Programme and Participants for further details.)

The meeting is limited in numbers in order to maintain its workshop character.  Applications have now closed.
