London Mathematical Society and Edinburgh Mathematical Society Joint MeetingTuesday 22 July 2003, EdinburghLMS & EMS Meeting: Home | FormHodge Theory in a New Century:Scientific Programme | Conference Arrangements | Registration & Financial Support Forms | Conference Home Page As part of the ICMS conference 'Hodge Theory in a New Century' the LMS and EMS are jointly hosting an afternoon of more general talks likely to be of interest to a broad range of mathematicians. 1400 LMS/EMS Business 1415 Michael Atiyah - Sir William Hodge: the man and the mathematician 1515 Roger Penrose - Mathematical experiences as a Cambridge research student under William Hodge 1600 Tea 1645 Fritz Hirzebruch - Hodge numbers, Chern numbers, Catalan numbers 1730 Finish The meeting will be held in the Michael Swann Building in the University of Edinburgh's Kings Buildings (entry via Gate 4 on Mayfield Road). All are welcome and there is no charge for attendance. It is, however, necessary to reserve a place, which you can do here. A conference dinner will be held in the Playfair Library in the evening of Tuesday 22nd. Those attending only the LMS/EMS meeting are welcome to attend (subject to availability) at a charge of £30. NB Those who have registered for the conference need not reserve a place at either the LMS/EMS meeting or the Dinner.
