ICMS Instructional Conference in Nonlinear PDE
REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT

I wish to apply for financial support to attend the Instructional Conference. (Please delete inappropriate section.  You may initially apply only to one source of funds.)

1.	EC Funding for young EU scientists
To apply for this funding - which will subsidise most of your local costs and make a significant contribution to travel costs - you should be under 35 and a citizen of an EU country or an associated state (see the list of associated states in section 3 of "Financial Support" on the page outlining conference arrangements) and currently working in an EU state. Please check your eligibility on www.cordis.lu/fp5/src/3rdcountries.htm

You should accompany this form with a 'Case for Support', taking the form of a brief (<100-word) description of your area of research and why you want to attend the conference (e.g. contributions you can make; benefits you expect to gain, possible interrelations between your area and inverse problems etc).  If you are a PhD student, we will also need a letter of recommendation from your supervisor who should be certain you would benefit from participation. If submitting this form electronically, an email from your supervisor will suffice.

2.	ICMS/LMS partial support
To apply for this support, which will usually cover the majority of your local costs, you must be a scientist resident and working in the UK.  You should also have sufficient funds to cover your travel costs and the Registration Fee.

Please also send 'Case for Support' in the form of a brief description (one side of A4) of your area of work and why you want to attend the conference, e.g. contributions you can make and benefits you expect to gain.
