Workshop ArrangementsVenueThe Workshop will be held in Faculty Rooms North and South ofthe David Hume Tower, George Square. Tea and coffee will be provided at the venue. Lunch is not provided at the venue but is easily available at a variety of outlets in the vicintiy of George Square. For details of how to get to Edinburgh, please use the links on our Travel Information page.AccommodationWe have reserved single study-bedrooms (arriving on Sunday 8th, departing on Saturday 14th) at Pollock Halls, a University of Edinburgh student residence just to the south-east of the city-centre. Breakfast and evening meals will also be available there. If you require accommodation, early application is encouraged as the reserved rooms will be allocated as the registrations are received.Participants are also free to make their own arrangements for accommodation and ICMS staff will be happy to advise. Financial matters1 Registration feeThis Fee of £50 is payable six weeks prior to the meeting.2 Course costsThe costs will be invoiced, in pounds sterling, prior to the meeting and must be paid at the very latest by the start of the meeting. ICMS cannot accept credit cards.(a) Residential - £210 This covers dinner, bed and breakfast from the evening of Sunday 8th July to the morning of Saturday 14th July, and refreshments during the 5 days of the meeting. The evening meal will be in the Pollock Hall dining room on each night except the 8th (when there will be a Registration Buffet) and the evening of Thursday 12th when there will be a conference dinner. The cost of all evening meals is included. (There may be some ensuite rooms available, and the cost will be around £290 for the week.) (b) Non-Residential - £25 To cover the Registration Buffet on Sunday 8th July and refreshments during the meeting. There will be an additional charge of £20 for anyone wanting to attend the Conference Dinner on the 12th. 3 Financial SupportThose wishing to apply for funding should complete the Application for Financial Support section on the Registration Form. There are two sources of funds available.1. The workshop has an award from the European Commission to support the participation of EU nationals and nationals of the associated states (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Israel) who are under the age of 35. The awards are limited in number and will be allocated by the Organisers. Each award will normally cover all local costs (except lunch) and the Registration Fee and will make a significant contribution towards travel. 2. The workshop has limited funds from the LMS. These awards will cover 50% of the residential costs. They are open to a) UK-based postgraduates; and b) UK-based participants unable to find 100% funding from their own institutions. ApplicationsAll Application Forms should be with ICMS by Saturday 28th April. Those applying for financial support will be told if their application has succeeded by mid-May. Numbers are limited and Registration may close early if capacity is reached. |
