Cellular Responses to Multiple Signalling Cues: Applications to Embryology and Wound Healing

In biological systems, cells often respond to multiple signalling cues. As they also modify these cues, the result is a complex nonlinear feedback system that can only be understood through mathematical modelling and numerical simulation. This talk will consider two applications:

1. cellular response to multiple chemotactic signals in the context of pigmentation pattern formation;
2. the interaction of haptotactic and chemotactic signalling in the context of dermal wound contraction.
