Workshop on Uncertainty, Complexity and Predictive Reliability of Environmental/Biological Models

University of Nottingham, 14 to 16 April 2004

NB The application period is now closed.

The general theme of the workshop is the statistical challenges posed by estimating uncertainty and predictive reliability of environmental and biological models. We aim to: (a) increase the awareness of relevant techniques and methods in the environmental/biological modelling community and (b) inform and challenge the statistical community with the issues raised by such models .

A key objective of the Workshop is to help researchers and students in both environmental/biological and statistical disciplines share knowledge, establish common interests and develop future collaborations. The participation of research students and postdoctoral researchers as well as of established academics is welcomed. Numbers will be limited to retain the workshop character. Applications to attend can be made via the form here (deadline 16 January 2004). The Organisers will inform applicants of the result of their application in February 2004.

Participation in the workshop is fully funded, with the exception of travel costs.
