Workshops and Training Courses

NERC and EPSRC are jointly funding a £2.75 million programme in Environmental Mathematics and Statistics (EMS) over 3 years. This capacity-building initiative aims to enhance the quality and quantity of collaborations between the mathematical/statistical and life/environmental science communities. It includes NERC's aim of attracting mathematicians and statisticians to play a more active role in environmental research, and EPSRC's identification of environmental mathematics and statistics as a strategic interdisciplinary priority.

Workshops and Training Courses form one of four strands of activity supported by the programme.

The Final Call for Proposals was at the end of 2003. See Future Events for details of the remaining programme. Queries should be directed to Tracey Dart, the Facilitator for the Workshops and Training Courses (tracey@maths.ed.ac.uk tel 0131 220 1777).
